i have a client who is clearing up title to some land (current value about $250K) owned in an industrial area in Long Beach because they now wish to sell the property. The property was inherited from an aunt back in 1973. client fears that clearing title may trigger an estate tax audit and they would like to know what the rates and exemptions were back in 1973 for both Federal estate tax and California inheritance tax.

Give me your fax no. and I will fax you the Federal Estate Tax and California Inheritance Tax rate schedules for 1973 as published by CCH in their 1974 "U.S. Master Tax Guide" and "Guidebook to California Taxes".
