I noticed that new for CRUT's in 2007 it looks as though you only need to file form 5227 and no longer need to file for 1041A. But for Ca you need to still file 541a and 541b. Is this correct?

That is right. The directions for the 5227 state that. You will still need to file Forms 541A and 541B for California.

My software is not generating 541-A, just 541-B. Cal may have joined the bandwagon.

Mary,

If you have ProSystem go to Federal input Form A3 and mark the box that you want to generate 541-A. I believe that Form 541-A is still required to be filed.

Yes, I discovered that earlier this week. I'm still on time to send out the 541A timely but I know folks who completed 5227s with only 541B forms.
