What is the correct presentation on Form 706 for a decedent's QPRT that is disqualified due to death prior to end of QPRT's term.  Schedule G with explanation ?  Report as prior gift and removal on same schedule with explanation of failed gift ?

The IRS has not been rigid in requiring information to be on one Form 706 schedule or another. Some people report all trust assets on the named schedule - real estate on A, stocks and bonds on B while others report all trust assets on Schedule G. The important thing is disclosure.

I think I would use Schedule G with an explanation but I can see that other schedules might work as well.

One colleague recently called the Cincinatti IRS office to ask some presentation questions and got what he described as well thought-out answers.
