I'm receiving conflicting information regarding the filing requirement for CA Form ET-1 for decedents dying after 12-31-04. In May, 2005 a representative from the CA State Controller's office said no CA ET-1 w/ IRS 706 attached required to be filed due to HR 1836. In August 'Spidell CA Taxletter'(page 121) Ms. Rodda's article said 'Yes' CA ET-1 w/ IRS 706 attached still required to be filed with CA Contoller's office under 18 Cal. Code Regs. 1138.30. Does anyone have any better authoritative information?
