Deceased individual had a few 401(k) accounts. I am the estate’s executor. I have found documentation (photo copies) of two account’s beneficiary forms, but for one account I have no idea who are the beneficiaries. I contacted the employer’s plan administrator to determine the beneficiary names, but they won’t provide the names to me.Is this proper?... can a 401(k) plan administrator refuse to inform an estate’s executor the names listed as beneficiaries for the account. Does ERISA cover this issue?I realize that if an account has beneficiaries then it’s not a probate asset, but I find it strange that an executor can’t at least be informed the names listed as beneficiaries for the account. From a purely practical issue, I just want to make sure beneficiary contact/address information is current so that the plan administrator has accurate information on how/where to contact the beneficiaries.John
